de Jong Excavation is owned and operated by Professional Engineer and Certified Excavator Mark de Jong, a Union College graduate with a strong background in mechanical and environmental design engineering. Mark brings engineering-level insight to every project—from excavation and grading to septic system installation and complex site development.
Mark and his wife, Lauren, owner of Locust & Ridge Creative, live and work on their family farm in Broadalbin. Together, they combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and deep local roots to bring excavation and engineering projects to life in a way that is both personal and highly professional.
de Jong Excavation is fully insured with coverage tailored to our line of work, and we maintain our Certified Excavator status through annual continuing education and UDig NY re-certification. We follow all proper channels for every project, including utility mark-outs, securing municipal permits when required, and coordinating with agencies such as the APA, DEC, and DOH as needed.
